A tour of the demo: what you will see in ten minutes

Before you start

• It runs in the browser, on a computer or a phone, with nothing to install and no sign-up. The credentials are shown on the sign-in page.
• You sign in as a partner, so you see every case, client and report. A lawyer and an assistant in a real firm see less.
• The demo is shared by everyone who visits it and is reset every night. Add, edit and delete as you like, and do not enter a real client's or case's data.
• User, role and settings management are disabled in the demo. Everything else works as it does in the office.

The first three minutes: cases

Open the case list. Twelve cases spread across the stages the way a real firm's are: a labour claim at first instance, a construction dispute at appeal, an objection to an administrative decision before the Supreme Court, a bounced cheque and a promissory note in enforcement, an estate division and a lease termination in settlement, and a traffic-accident compensation claim still at notice.

Open the labour claim for end-of-service entitlements. At the top of the file is the seven-stage bar with the current stage, then the parties: the client Namaa Technology, the responsible lawyer and the team. The next hearing is written in both Hijri and Gregorian with the courtroom and the judge. Then the tabs: documents, tasks, hearings and the timeline.

Change the stage to appeal and watch the bar and the progress change. Then add a hearing from inside the file and watch it appear in the calendar. All of it returns to its original state overnight.

Clients and the conflict check

The client list has individuals, companies and one group, the heirs of Saleh Al-Ghamdi, with its members. Open an individual client, copy their ID number, then create a new client with a different name and the same ID number. Before the save, the match with the existing client is shown for you to decide. Try the same with the phone number, then with the name written another way.

Documents and search inside files

The labour case has six scanned documents: a statement of defence, a statement of claim, an employment contract and salary statements, arranged in folders. Go to Documents and search for “end of service” in Arabic, نهاية الخدمة. The results show every document the phrase appears in, with the passage that matched, not only the file name. Open the preview, then try “Save text as Word”.

Templates

Templates include a legal services contract with its smart fields: the client's name and ID or registration number, the contract number, the scope of services, the fees, and the date in Hijri and Gregorian. Choose a client and a case, look at the preview with the fields filled from the file, then export the document to Word on Al-Ufuq's letterhead.

Calendar and tasks

Open the calendar in week view. Every cell carries both dates, and hearings are coloured by type and linked to their cases. Tasks hold twenty-five items across the four lawyers, some deliberately overdue so you can see how lateness shows to the partner. Open a task and look at the checklist inside it.

What you will not see in the demo

• The operations panel. Updates, backups and optional modules are managed from a panel on the firm's own machine and are not part of the demo.
• The offsite copy to Google Drive, because it needs the firm's own account.
• User and permission management, so that one visitor cannot change what the next visitor sees.
• Real hardware speed. The demo is shared on a demo server; the system in an office runs alone on its own machine.
